Who this is for

Anyone who has messaged Alanis Quran Center on WhatsApp, opened one of our registration links, or held a staff account on Alanis Chat. You do not need an account, and you do not need to sign in, to make this request.

How to ask — choose either way

1. On WhatsApp, from the number you used

Send the word DELETE to the same WhatsApp number you have been writing to. Because the message comes from your own number, that is all we need to find your records.

2. By email

Write to info@alanistilawa.com with the subject Data deletion request, and include the phone number you contacted us on, so that we can find the right record. Do not send us your password or any other secret.

What we delete

• Your contact record — your phone number, your name and country as we hold them.
• The whole conversation between you and the center: every message you sent us and every reply we sent you.
• Any image, voice note, document or other file exchanged in that conversation.
• The notes our team recorded about your enquiry, and the record of which member of staff was handling you.
• Your entries in our link and registration records, including the name and phone number you typed on those pages.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a conversation once it has been removed, so if you may need it later, save it in WhatsApp on your own phone first.

How long it takes

We act on the request within 30 days, and usually much sooner. We reply on the same channel you used to confirm when it is done. If we cannot match your request to a record — for example, an email giving a number we have never received a message from — we will write back and ask.

What may remain

• The copy of the conversation on your own phone, in WhatsApp. That belongs to you and only you can delete it.
• Whatever Meta holds as the operator of WhatsApp, which is governed by the WhatsApp Privacy Policy and is outside our control.
• A minimal note that a deletion was requested and carried out, and any record the law or our accounts require us to keep — for example, a receipt for a fee already paid. These hold no message content.
• Counts and totals that no longer identify anyone, such as how many people opened a link.

If you only want us to stop messaging you

You do not have to delete everything. Reply STOP to any of our messages and we will stop sending them while keeping your registration record intact. You can also simply block the number in WhatsApp.

Staff accounts

If you worked at the center and want your account removed, write to info@alanistilawa.comfrom your own address. We close the account and remove your personal details. The messages you sent to contacts in the center’s name stay in those contacts’ conversations, since they are the center’s correspondence with them rather than yours.
